Guided past-paper warm-up

A short protocol for opening a paper you are allowed to use, without spoiling the later sitting.

This pack is a warm-up routine for IB Mathematics Analysis & Approaches SL, not a copy of any official examination. Use a paper your school is licensed to give students, or an internally written analogue.

Spend 15 minutes only: read the cover instructions, skim every question title, and mark the two items you will start with. Do not solve yet. Note formulas you expect to need on a scrap sheet, then close the paper and sit the first 30 minutes under time.

Admins: upload a PDF or paste a link in this editor to the specific paper students should use this week. Do not paste copyrighted question text into the site.

Calculator vs non-calculator drill pack

Split practice so technology habits do not leak into the paper that forbids them.

Students often practise everything with a calculator and then freeze on the paper that bans it. This pack is a split drill for IB Mathematics Analysis & Approaches SL.

Block A (non-calculator, 20 minutes): exact trig values, algebraic rearrangement, a derivative you can do by hand, and a probability that is a simple fraction.

Block B (calculator, 20 minutes): a regression or numerical solve, a definite integral or area, and a graph-reading item. Write the command or window, not only the output.

Admins can attach two short PDFs (or Question Bank playlists) labelled Block A and Block B. Keep official scanned papers out of the public internet unless licensing allows it.

After-paper review pack

A debrief template so a finished paper becomes a study plan, not a score only.

Once a paper for IB Mathematics Analysis & Approaches SL is marked, the useful work is the debrief. Copy the table below into notes or a shared doc.

  • Question and part (your numbering, not an official code you should not republish).
  • Topic from the Key Concepts list.
  • Error type: setup, algebra, calculator, incomplete method, or misread command term.
  • One follow-up drill in the Question Bank.

Admins: add a blank table, a marking checklist, or a link to a class tracker. Leave copyrighted markschemes off this page; point to the copy your school already holds.
